My current practice explores the survival dilemmas of women and the ideological impact between eastern and western culture in contemporary society, trying to reach the balance and harmony. By exploring some interesting difference between Taiwan and Portugal though this healing art journey. With my representative graphic ” Precious Bao”, as the connection shows the various mixing in Lisbon life what I observed.
“Gently Shout Out!” I use a mix media approach and apply the commonly seen cardboard shaped as the tiles. I create an old tiles wall on canvas, it includes the feedback what I collected from women in Lisbon.

This is the collaborative artwork created by Hsien Ni Ping and Jui- Pin Chang.
In traditional Eastern culture, describing women as a "beautiful vase" is a condescending term for patriarchy. And this is the inspiration and also a irony. It manifests that there are more than what meets the eyes. The garment is made with both traditional and contemporary materials, employing two traditional techniques including blue-and-white overglaze and embroidery. The hardness of ceramic is in contrast to softness of wool and reflective cloth. The image of walking vase that represents the pursuit of freedom, breaking away from traditional restrictions. It further expresses that women have irreplaceable values in any era.

In these years, I created the representative graphic” Precious Bao” as myself and my country, and it is also the symbol of women and free will.
During the period of art residency, I explored the similarities and differences between Taiwan and India. Also I felt deeply touched by the great simplicity、natural and traditional family sweet life in the village, which gradually losing in the urban area.


Blessing│mural│2024
The peacock is regarded as the holy bird in India. Therefore, the peacock image is developed as the main visual graphic, combined with Precious Bao in this mural. Precious Bao has twinkled eyes and spreads the peacock feathers. It shows the power, love and hope and also as my blessing to this lovely clay family. On the other side wall, there is a peacock standing on the left top of the gate, lots of birds are born from the eggs under the protection of the peacock. This mural not only shows the respect for good value of the traditional India culture, but also my good impression to this place.

Through the interaction method of making this work with village kids, it represents villagers and I get together to make this place more vibrant and vivid.In the beginning, I went to the village to do a mural painting every day. On the way, I was inspired by both sides’ plants of the farm and the road was filled with mud.
Therefore, the whole work described the farm in Andore. Kids’ mud paintings are painted on the whole canvas as the representation of energetic life. Flowers used to be the symbol of women, I painted various farm flowers blossoming in the middle of canvas, and further it manifested the efforts of women. There was also a vase put in the middle of the canvas, which means the essential element in life -“water”. The meaning is the same as the irreplaceable role of women who nourish and raise new life in the village.
Finally, each mud-made Precious Bao represents the different characters whom I saw, it becomes the important connection to the land.

白冷之愛-藝術創作聯展

此幅作品,以繪畫記錄參訪台東東海岸白冷修會的小馬教堂裡,修士們的事蹟所帶來的感動。
以台東當地生活中的各式紙料,混合製作成手工紙作為載體,並以都蘭為起點,延伸而上的台東海岸線為基準線,將畫面構成劃分三區塊,白、綠、藍,分別表現湛藍潔淨的天空,青翠的山林,碧藍浩瀚的大海,以及藍色區塊上,灑落的白色顏料為岸邊所激起的浪花,表達東海岸大自然的美,引發內心無限的悸動與澎湃的情感,感動於大自然的力量,而亮粉點綴鋪灑於藍色顏料上,隨著觀賞視角的變化,展現出陽光灑落在海面上,波光粼粼的閃耀感。
畫面中上半部偏左的白色區塊裡,繪製上成功鎮小馬部落的小馬天主堂,其正式名「小馬聖尼克老天主堂」,又稱「聖尼各老堂」,並以九隻蝴蝶試圖代表,長眠於小馬教堂後方的墓園裡,那些無私付出,從瑞士遠度重洋來台的九位修士,並在蝴蝶尾端,延伸而下的線條描繪為根,此外,下半部藍色區塊裡,以墓園上的小草,曬乾混於手工紙漿作為載體的一部分,去闡述這些修士在有限的生命中,卻留下對世人無盡的愛, 落地生根,為這片土地奉獻一生,也最後成為這片土地裡,不可或缺的一部分,藉此表達無盡的感恩與緬懷之心。

黑夜裡,不停地溫柔閃耀著│38x31cm(含框)

此作品,以聖母在黑夜裡,默默地發光溫柔守護著人們的概念,去彰顯天主教低調行善的特色。
畫面氛圍,試圖以碳筆繪製空間背景,與位於初鹿「聖 瑪德蓮堂」建築裡特色的卑南石板,呈現黑夜幽暗的氛圍與冰冷,隱喻在當時的時空下,人們生活環境的艱困,而黃色的光影,象徵天主教堂對人們溫暖的付出,帶來希望的光芒。
此外,畫面中彩色的卑南族花環,在空間中環繞聖母一圈,以花環的傳統文化象徵,表達在天主的愛護下,人們展開如花朵般的美麗人生,更進一步地,表達天主的愛與人們緊密地「環」在一起,最後,灑落在畫面上的金色顏料,作為印記比喻般般聖跡,不斷持續地在人們內心發光。
